Carnival Choreography Contest
For the first time, La Daurada presents the Carnival Choreography Contest. A unique gathering to celebrate the 21st-century Carnival of the Garraf, Alt Penedès and Baix Penedès, and to give it the recognition it deserves.
Year after year, the parades of floats and choreographies have become a mass tradition that fills the avenues, squares and streets of the towns and cities of our region. A celebration that brings generations together around music, dance and the pride of belonging to a colla.
Behind every parade there are costumes made piece by piece, music chosen and edited, hours of rehearsals, and hands that build floats, sew costumes and do the make-up of every member of the colla. Carnival mobilises thousands of people and, in fact, it starts many months earlier, when the groups set about imagining, creating and rehearsing so that, when the time comes, they can take to the streets and shine.
The Choreography Contest at La Daurada is born to put that work, and the people who make it possible, in the spotlight. Floats, collas, comparsas, groups and associations will make the leap from the parade to the stage, with a production designed to show off their choreographies, their costumes and a staging that becomes a true explosion of music, dance, light and colour.
A competition to celebrate the most spectacular performances. A unique opportunity to share the carnival talent of our region on the stage of La Daurada.
